At our studio, we are committed to capturing the essence of each woman’s journey, celebrating her unique beauty and empowering herself to see herself in a new light. A photoshoot might not be the first thing that comes to mind when you think of self-care but I promise, you will feel transformed! I can’t count how many times, I heard “why haven’t I done this sooner”. We don’t give ourselves credit enough for who we are, how far we have come and most importantly, we don’t have any images of us and our journey. Let’s take photos of you that you are proud to share!
Is a Branding Shoot for me?
“I don’t like myself in images” or “I am not photogenic” - you see, almost every single woman you see here on my page said the same about herself. I promise that you are and that you will love your images.
“I need to lose 10lbs first” - We are our worst own critics and only see our flaws. Let me show yourself in a different light, through my lens and experience the transformation for yourself. You are beautiful at this stage in your life, exactly as you are.
I don’t know how to pose” - You don’t have to! That’s what I am here for. You can expect a fully guided shoot with expert posing that will bring out your most flattering angles.
“I don’t have anything to wear” - Don’t worry, we got you covered. You have access to our studio wardrobe and I am sure you have something that you love in your closet. We will talk about looks and what to bring in our pre-shoot style & concept consultation.
“What am I even doing with the images?” - Trust me, you will proudly share them! Every woman who comes to the studio has a unique story and reason why she wants to do a photoshoot. Whether these are a gift for a special someone or - even better - for yourself, you will leave a legacy with your images. We all have this one portrait of our mom or grandma that we cherish but what will people find when they look for images of us?

I am so happy that you are here! I am Tanja, a wife, a mom, a German by origin, a Chicagoan at heart, a portrait photographer, the owner of Tanja Pleis Photography in Chicago - and first and foremost a woman.
Isn't it interesting that everything else usually comes first? As women we always take care of someone or something else. We rarely set aside time to focus on just us and celebrate just how amazing we are. On the contrary actually, most of the time we are our worst own critic.
Boudoir photography is my absolute passion. My mission is to help every woman to see herself through the eyes of someone else and help her realize how strong, confident, fearless and beautiful she is, Seeing the transformation in every single woman is nothing short of amazing.
